We collect only what we need to run and protect the site. No accounts, emails or profiles.

What we store

Covers you create: the link address, image, title, description, creation time, and the Terms version you accepted and when. Covers are public by design.
Images you upload: re-encoded as JPEG (which strips camera/location metadata) and stored on our server so link previews can load them.
Abuse-control fingerprint: a one-way keyed hash of the IP address that created a cover, so we can investigate abuse. We don't store the raw IP with your cover.
Counters: when a link is requested we record the link and a time, and whether the request looked like a link-preview bot or a browser that actually played the animation. No IP, cookie or device ID is stored with these events.

Our hosting provider and network infrastructure may keep standard request logs (IP address, user agent, time) under their own retention rules.
Rate limiting keeps recent IP addresses in server memory for a few minutes only.
Messaging apps and social networks fetch and may cache previews of links you share. We don't control their caches.

Regular visitors get no cookies. Administrators get one sign-in cookie.
